Mayan Elders Message

A MESSAGE FROM
DON ALEJANDRO
SPEAKER, MAYAN ELDERS COUNCIL

The prophecy says now is the time of awakening.  This is your job now: to awaken.  The Vale of the Nine Hells is past, and the Time of Warning has now arrived.  It is time to prepare for the Age of the Thirteen Heavens.  The time of 12 Baktun and 13 Ahau is fast approaching, and they shall be here among you to defend Mother Earth.

The prophecy says, 'Let the dawn come.  Let all the people and all creatures have peace, let all things live happily, for the love must not only be between humans, but between all living things.'

They said, 'We are the children of the sun, we are the children of time, and we are travelers in space.  May all the songs awaken, may all the dancers awaken.  May all the people and all things live in peace, for you are the valleys, you are  the mountains, you are the trees, you are the very air you breathe.' ….

Now is the time of return of the grandmothers and grandfathers,  Now is the time of the return of the elders.  Now is the time of the return of the wise ones.  And  the wise ones are all of you.  Now is the time to go out into the world and spread the light.

The sacred flame has been kept for this purpose, and now the time approaches when you will be required to love all things, to love a world that has gone crazy, to rebalance the heavens and the Earth.  For the Time of Warning has come to pass, and the Warriors of the Rainbow are now beginning to be born.

The Vale of Tears, the Nine Hells, is over, and it is time to prepare for the 13 Heavens.  The ancestors are returning, my brothers and sisters, and we do not have long.  Now is the time that the prophecies will be fulfilled."

— Don Alejandro Cirilo Oxlaj Peres, Mayan Elder

i met don aljandro in february 2006 in jaipur, india
at the world council of elders of ancient traditions and cultures.
don alejandro gave me a special blessing on my 56th birthday.

i wept through much of his presentation,
including recounting the history of conquest, enslavement,
deliberate destruction of mayan culture,
and suppression of mayan spiritual practices.

in january 2009, don alejandro was the invited speaker
at the inauguration of guatamala's new president,
marking the end of 35 years of military juntas,
death squads, disappearings, assassins, massacres,
and other atrocities,
and start of a new era of peace and cooperation
between spanish and indigenous populations
for the good of all.

in the 1960s, america's true culture and government, too,
was overthrown and suppressed by militarized forces
driven by economic ambitions of empire.

this period included assassination of the kennedy's and king,
and a string of foreign wars, regime changes,
and other outside interventions.

this period of turmoil and social change
also gave birth to civil rights, hippie culture,
anti-war movement and organic food
-- an outburst of liberty, fraternity and earth awareness.

now, it is time for american people,
white, black, yellow, and brown,
to wake up from their long nightmare,
assert the heart and vision of liberty, love and peace
that originally inspired this nation
300 and 3000 and 13,000 years ago.

it is time to unite
with the red people of ancient america,
masculine and feminine,
put aside the horrible history of the past,
heal our communities, lands and psyches,
and step into this new era.

we are the ones we have been waiting for.
our time is now.

happy birthday, mother earth!
human beings are waking up,
returning to heart and home,
a new era of planetary stewardship and community.

celebrate the mother earth and nature
in ceremony, song and dance!
a green & peaceful planet.

Magnetic Pole Shift
North Magnetic Pole in Rapid Transit to Siberia
new science animations depict 420-year history: 1590 - 2010

perhaps the most important  and fundamental geophysical reality today is that earth's magnetic field is undergoing extra-ordinary change.  at the very least, we're in phase 3 of a magnetic pole shift, with earth's north magnetic pole migrating rapidly from northern canada across the arctic sea to siberia.  this began in early 1800s with formation of a dense, tight bundle of magnetic threads extending across the arctic sea to siberia.  in the 1900s, north magnetic pole began moving in this straight line northward along this bundle of magnetic flux.  beginning 2000, north magnetic pole left north america, entered the arctic sea, and began to accelerate -- from a normal 5 km/yr to a dramatic 40+ km/yr.  at that rate, in 50 to 60 years, north magnetic pole will be in siberia.

you can see science-based animations and descriptions of this pole shift at the links below. these animations are programmed with global data for 1590 to 2010.  watch carefully what happens in the last decade (2000-2010) of this 420-year historic reconstruction.

the graphic below from canada's geological survey plots north magnetic pole movements.  notice the sudden change near 1900 when the pole begins moving in a straight line.  and after 2000, the pole travels nearly as far in 10 years as it did the previous 50, and along that incredibly straight line defined by the bundled magnetic flux bridging to siberia.

it's doubtful we'll see a pole flip - a reversal of north & south.  but seems certain a significant, unprecedented (in human history) pole shift is well underway, and likely inevitable.  however, the magnetic pole is tracking to migrate very close to the planet's spin axis, and a near-alignment of those two planetary energy systems can trigger other rapid shifts in the energy equilibrium of our whirling ball of stone and magma.  in any event, clearly, thermal shifts from rapid-onset climate change are only one of several facets of earth that are now rapidly changing.

clearly, this magnetic shift from west to east hemisphere will have impacts on a wide range of ecological, biological, neurological, and sociological patterns.  i believe this pole shift heralds a dramatic change of our mode of brain function from left brain linear, analytical to right brain holistic, intuitional.  in any event, in two generations, the world won't be at all the same as the entire last millennium, or two.

Climate Rant Chant

i am really the only person in these parts who understands
we are now already in a state of climate emergency?
that life as we have lived it for 60+ years is now over?

i feel like noah wandering about with blueprint plans for a boat.
most folks are too busy having fun or making money to help build the boat,
and others don't believe the boat will float,
or i'm not properly qualified and trained to build a boat,
 or i don't have a building permit, since it's obviously a house,
or it will use too many trees......

cheap energy, imported food and unlimited growth are history.
the future is now an uncertain, unlikely question.
existing socioeconomic lifestyles are about to end,
and are already crumbling around us,
or burning up in the drought.
or masked by coal-fired air conditioning and phony federal reserve notes.

meanwhile arctic ice melt and methane hydrate release increase exponentially
as man-made carbon emissions continue to increase, not decrease,
with still no global agreement or plan to get serious, get responsible,
and get off our fossil fuel addiction.

i'm ready to give up on these people and head home to heaven.
let them learn their lesson the hard, painful way of hardcore experience.

anyway, we have to get this biochar business started asap.
can't wait until the rest of these daydream addicts wake up
and change their priorities.
we're already too late to avert massive suffering,
and probable human population decline.
let's go forward.
against the odds.
against the conventional mindset.

SEQUESTER CARBON

SEQUESTER CARBON
TO MITIGATE CLIMATE CHANGE

By now, most thinking people realize climate is changing.
Rapidly. Catastrophically. Globally.

Our only way out of climate calamity is to sequester carbon,
out of the air, back into the biosphere.

Our single best strategy to sequester carbon is to make biochar and add it to soil.
This strategy works in several ways:
1) As char, biomass carbon is super-stable and will remain in soil for centuries,
and likely over a millennium.
2) Biochar promotes a microbial population explosion
and these microbes sequester more carbon as their living and dead bodies,
3) which causes a doubling or more of plant growth,
which sequesters even more carbon into living biomass.
4) Biochar loosens, lightens, opens, and aerates soil
so it requires less machinery and energy for tillage.
5) Biochar plus microbes holds nutrients in soil,
to reduce carbon and nitrogen emissions and leaching,
6) thus reduce or eliminate synthetic, energy intensive fertilizers.
7) Making biochar by gasification produces gas & liquid biofuels to replace fossil fuels
8) and, as a bonus, biochar creates nutrient-dense soil to grow nutrient-dense food to reverse the growing epidemic of chronic and degeneratve diseases, and their rising health care costs.

BEYOND ORGANIC: 3 steps to a new Green Revolution

July 7, NY Times ran an article "Has 'Organic' Been Over-sized?" about ongoing buy-out of organic food businesses by huge food corporations such as General Mills, and steady erosion of organic standards purity due to influence of big agribusiness representatives on decisions made by the National Organic Standards Board. Here's the link to the article:
http://www.nytimes.com/2012/07/08/business/organic-food-purists-worry-about-big-companies-influence.html

Brett Wedel of the Northeast Organic Farming Association of NY (NOFA-NY) sent an email asking: "What do you think? Has infiltration of mega-corporations eroded organic standards? Can organic food production grow in scale without sacrificing its principles?" Brett asked for 150 word responses to publish in the next NOFA-NY newsletter.

I have a keen interest in this, since in 1985, I started the NOFA-NY certification program, and represented NY at meetings to create regional reciprocity among NOFA chapters, OFPNA, OCIA and the national certification system. My answer:

In the 80s, we created organic certification because of fear the word "organic" would be seized by corporate big boys. Sadly, "organic" mostly meant "grown without synthetic, toxic chemicals”—a negative definition—what food isn't, not what it is. Yet, it was what we could do at that time. Thirty years later, our fear is realized as organic businesses are bought up and organic standards corrupted.

Now, rather than fight this nearly-complete big boy buy-out, the next generation must go "beyond organic." Our farm movement must make giant steps forward to a truly ecologic future. We must "close the food circle" to grow and market food that stands for positive, life-enhancing, ecology-restoring ideas and methods.

Three key concepts define new goals for our continuing revolution in evolution:
community-centered: locally grown, locally consumed, economically sensible
nutrient-dense: food that is fully complete, healthful, nutritious
carbon-negative: farming and food choices that sequester carbon
